Fillings
We exclusively use tooth-colored fillings. Highest quality materials and perfect, careful processing ensure beautiful teeth for a long time.
For whom?
Composite fillings are suitable for all patients who have cavities or tooth damage that needs to be repaired. Inlays are a longer-lasting alternative when the defect is not yet so large that a crown is necessary. Inlays are normally used in the posterior tooth area and replace parts of the chewing surface.
Process
After removing the decay, the tooth is restored with a modern, tooth-colored composite filling. For larger defects, we offer inlays: Ceramic inlays are precisely manufactured in the laboratory and adapt perfectly to the natural teeth in form and color. Gold inlays in the posterior tooth area are a proven and durable solution that is also indicated for bruxism (teeth grinding). We distinguish between gold, ceramic, or plastic inlays.
Duration & Notes
Filling therapy takes 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the defect. Plastic fillings do not last a lifetime - the lifespan is about 6-8 years. After this time, they usually need to be renewed. Ceramic inlays are several years more durable than composite fillings, do not change their color over time, wear extremely slowly, and are very resistant. We check your fillings during regular check-ups.
Costs
Costs depend on the size of the filling and the material chosen. Statutory health insurance covers the costs for standard fillings. Inlays are high-quality and durable inlay fillings that serve as an alternative to fillings made of amalgam, cement, or plastics.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do composite fillings last?
Plastic fillings do not last a lifetime. The lifespan is about 6-8 years. After this time, they usually need to be renewed.
What is the difference between a composite filling and an inlay?
Inlays are high-quality and more durable inlay fillings that are precisely manufactured in the laboratory. They are an alternative to fillings when the defect is not yet so large that a crown is necessary.
Which inlay material is best?
Ceramic inlays are almost invisible and represent a highly aesthetic variant. Gold inlays are particularly durable and also indicated for bruxism. However, in terms of aesthetics, ceramic is preferred.
